I Cor 10:26: For the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.   Leave a comment

Since it is the Lords, only God can tax the earth. For the state to claim the right to tax the earth is for the state to make itself God. The more a state abuses this, the more tyrannical it usually is. Taxes in the hands of a tyrannical government is very destructive.

Matt 28:18: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”   Leave a comment

Authority over all things, including disease, is given to Jesus. These are perilous times. They are also times of great opportunity for the extension and application of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He reigns now.

Ex 20:4: “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.”   Leave a comment

Idolatry is banned by the first commandment, whereas the second commandment prohibits worship of such images. Man can only approach God on God’s terms and there can be no mediation between God and man except that which is ordered by God. As Rushdoony wrote, The purpose of idols is to convey abstract concepts to simple [...]

I Chron 29:11-12: Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours.   Leave a comment

Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.

Zeph 1:3 “I will sweep away both men and animals; I will sweep away the birds of the air and the fish of the sea. The wicked will have only heaps of rubble when I cut off man from the face of the earth,” declares the LORD .   Leave a comment

Though God will use greed and other wicked impulses of the human heart as instruments in His hand of discipline, the Lord takes responsibility for the pain and suffering the nation of Israel is about to suffer. Not only man but also the beasts, the fowls of the air and the fish of the sea [...]

Rev 1:7: Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen   Leave a comment

..then will every knee bow and proclaim “Jesus Christ is Lord.” Some translations use the word “wail” instead of “mourn.” I think “wail” works better and is a more apt description. With what consternation and shame will his rejectors behold him. With what horror will those behold him who have blasphemed. His name, denied his [...]

Gen 1:1: “In the beginning God Created the heaven and earth.”   Leave a comment

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. This is the foundational premise of the whole Bible. It announces Gods creation. It offers no explanation or descriptive of who God is or where He came from. We could discard this piece of information since there is no evidence of this “God.” But, by [...]

Job 19:25: For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth   Leave a comment

The Hebrew word for “redeemer” is goel, which also means “advocate,” or, more archaicallly “blood avenger”.

Deut 12:19: Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon the earth.   Leave a comment

Throughout scripture, it is clear that those who serve God’s sanctuary and proclaim His word have a holiness in God’s sight and are to be held in respect by all men. The tribe of Levi was separated by God unto Himself, “to bless His name” (Deut 10:8), so that to bless faithful Levi meant to [...]

Is 55:8-9: “My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are my ways yours saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”   Leave a comment

The practice of theology requires careful attention to reading and meditating, and then to applying the word of God, while at the same time refusing to be speculative by going beyond what is actually written. Our limited human understanding is both suspicious and fearful and either limits God or creates Him too much like a [...]

Is 11:9: They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.   Leave a comment

Man must restore to God His due, total lordship over all things, and this restoration, begun by Christ’s regenerating act, continued by the Holy Spirit, and made the very life of redeemed man to further, shall begin to come into its own way. We are being prepared for living in a community in which no [...]

Josh 2:11: And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.   Leave a comment

Rahab, in citing the terror of the Canaanites over the power of Israel, does more than the Canaanites. She attributes this power to the total power of the Lord. The Canaanites were in terror, because they recognized what Israel had done to all its enemies. The history of Israel from the Red Sea crossing to [...]

Luke 18:6-8: And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge said; now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? “I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”   Leave a comment

Now if this unrighteous judge with no morals can answer a repetitive request, then how much more can a loving God? If this man will answer petitions that come to him from a stranger once a day, then will not God answer petitions that come from his children both day and night? Will God be [...]
